Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description:

 

Toyota Motor Europe R&D Centre is responsible for:

  •  Developing vehicles and making concept proposal for EU core models.
  •  Reflecting EU technology to Toyota Vehicles timely by utilizing location advantage and strong network with EU partners.

 

The team you will join is responsible for the (pre)-development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems [ADAS], providing increased safety to Toyota customers but also convenience/driving support features for a more comfortable journey.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

You will be joining and contributing to a team working on the improvement of ADAS systems. The team has a wide range of responsibilities.

 

Development:

  • Data driven investigation of ADAS and Active Safety systems system performance in the field.
  • From ADAS design information, extract key indicator showing the performance of the system in the market.
  • Model based system re-simulation.
  • Review test results and confirm if Toyota technical standards fulfilled.
  • Report project status in a concise manner & Maintain regular communication with project partners.

 

 

Your Profile

Your profile: 

    • You are fluent in English (TME business language).
    • You have a critical and analytical mindset, taking responsibility for independently reviewing and ensuring the quality of your work before reporting it.
    • You have are in final year of master’s degree in engineering or computer science.
    • You are comfortable programming in both Python & Matlab/Simulink.
    • You are capable of setting up data processing toolchains, performing data analysis, and reporting results in a clear and concise manner.
    • You have good people (soft) skills and can comfortably discuss / negotiate with other stakeholders internally and externally.
    • You have a strong interest in automotive and ADAS.
    • Knowledge of software development process (V-cycle) is an asset.
    • Knowledge of ADAS functions and their limitations are an asset.
    • Knowledge in CAN communication and/or Vector tools (CANoe, vTestStudio…) is an asset.
    • You are willing to travel for business on a regular basis.

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
