In a nutshell

Vehicle Logistics ensures safe, high‑quality, on‑time delivery of Toyota and Lexus vehicles across Europe. The internship focuses on supporting Demand & Supply Reform through Power BI reporting. You’ll design and maintain dashboards, build data models, test data accuracy, and collaborate with logistics, IT, and business teams. The role blends technical skills (DAX, SQL, data modeling) with analytical thinking to turn complex logistics data into actionable insights. You’ll also help improve reporting processes and support stakeholders in using Power BI effectively.

Team/division description

 

Vehicle Logistics (VLG) is responsible for the multi modal transportation of Toyota and Lexus vehicles from our Overseas – and Local Plants, to ports of export, inland compounds and/or retailers in Europe.

 

For those European markets where we assume responsibility until retailer delivery, our vehicles are Customised (Post Production Option Installations) and Quality checked (Pre Delivery Inspection) in our hubs, all strategically located within Europe.

             

Through the fundamentals of Safety and Quality, VLG’s core mission is to achieve on-time and shortest possible delivery lead time to Toyota retailers in Europe. This critical activity involves daily follow up and reporting, system enhancements and countermeasure implementation (transportation and hub workload management), from vehicle line-off to retailer delivery through Toyota Production System principles.

 

Your Role

 

Position Summary

We are looking for a hands‑on Power BI Reporting Specialist who will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high‑quality Power BI dashboards and data models. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a deep understanding of business reporting needs, ensuring data is transformed into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development & Delivery

  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
  • Develop effective data models, including star schemas and DAX measures.
  • Transform raw data into clean, structured, and optimized models for analytics.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct detailed functional testing to ensure data accuracy, report performance, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Implement data validation checks to guarantee consistency across sources.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to datasets, refresh failures, or visual rendering.

Data Pipeline & Integration

  • Work with data engineers, IT, and business teams to connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, Azure, APIs, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Optimize dataset refresh cycles and ensure reliable Power BI service deployments.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Collect reporting requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to users on Power BI dashboards and best practices.
  • Document data models, processes, and report logic.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline or automate reporting processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and recommend improvements.

Your Profile

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Proficiency in DAX, data modeling, and Power Query (M).
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices.
  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Background & Qualifications & Personal skills

  • Degree in Engineering or Logistics. Experience in Automotive is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure data tools (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, etc.).
  • Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and ETL pipelines.
  • Background in business analysis or analytics.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD, or DevOps for Power BI.
  •  Strong numerical, logical and analytical skills.
  •  Strong team player with good communication skills and capability to adapt to multiple stakeholders and reporting lines.
  • Fluent in English, any other European language is an asset

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
