Focus on learning the 3GPP standard, detailing OpenAPIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for the Service-Based Architecture (https://www.3gpp.org/technologies/openapis-for-the-service-based-architecture), to understand how to access the wide range of those capabilities through API (Application Programming Interfaces) to enable Automotive AF (Application Function) to dynamically interact with an adapt to networks in real-time.

  • Learn how to set up and to configure an integrated programming environment, using open-source packages, to write a software application (AF) enabling Toyota engineers to request specific “slices” of an MNO (Mobile Network Operator), such as APIs developed under the CAMARA project (https://github.com/camaraproject/APIBacklog/blob/main/documentation/APIbacklog.md).
More specifically, write and execute an initial AF (Application Function) that will request a defined Class of Service (CoS) to a mobile operator, on 5G SA (Stand Alone) network.

  • Contribute to defining how the above API environment will evolve to a wider audience of engineers that will benefit from mobile network capabilities, proposing valuable changes or adaptation.
