Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

           

As part of the TME R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is dedicated to the local development of powertrains for vehicles produced in TME's manufacturing plants, as well as the planning and research of new European technologies. Our latest focus areas include electrification, big data, and connectivity.

 

Our team, PT Connected, combines extensive system knowledge with comprehensive market data collection to prototype innovative future services in vehicle multimedia and smartphone applications.

 

Your project

 

Range anxiety is a significant concern for BEV users, and at TME R&D, we prioritize exceeding customer expectations in the BEV user experience. To contribute to this goal, you will:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of BEV system energy flow and breakdown.
  • Enhance modules to improve vehicle energy prediction on planned routes.
  • Support the creation of logic for advising and displaying range optimization.
  • Conduct in-vehicle testing using our in-house software prototyping framework.

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language).
  • Master Mechanical engineer (Ideally data science/ machine learning/ automotive). 
  • You have a European EEA citizenship. (not requiring a visa to work in Belgium).
  • You must be a student for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Knowledge in computer science, big data, machine learning.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle & electric powertrain system.
  • Excellent knowledge of Python & Git (Dash Plotly is a plus)
  • Able to summarize and explain complex technical information in a clear and visual way.
  • Team player, great ability to collaborate
  • Basic skills with Office suite are a must.

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
