Your team and your responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated candidate to work with our AI Research team at Toyota Motor Europe. The goal is to innovate and accelerate the deployment of cutting-edge machine-learning techniques for driving and car monitoring technologies, in collaboration with Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing a machine-learning model that monitors and analyzes time series data in real-time. You will play a crucial role in collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to ensure the integration and usability of the model in the Toyota Gazoo Racing eco-system.

Your Profile

Expertise

  • Machine- and Deep-learning, incl. knowledge of classical algorithms
  • Foundation models (knowledge in large vision models, multi-modal models)
  • Time series (knowledge in large real-time data would be a plus)
  • (Optional) Experience in creating, tuning and deploying deep neural networks in practical environments
  • (Optional) Experience in integrating algorithms and testing in real world environments (embedded device and cloud infrastructures)

Hardware/Software

  • Python, (extra) C++, MATLAB/Simulink
  • Proficient in PyTorch (knowledge in PyTorch Forecasting and TensorRT would be a plus)
  • Python libraries: Pandas, Scikit-learn (knowledge in SKTime and Darts would be a plus)
  • Proficient in Linux, Docker, Git
  • Proficient in Linux environment and HPC experience (preferable AWS and Azure)
  • Optional: Experience in embedded architecture, specifically Nvidia Jetson.

Tasks

    • Develop, evaluate and adapt algorithms available in the time series literature
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in foundation models and time series analysis
    • Implement algorithms and maintain the code repository
    • Build relevant experiment protocols to validate hypothesis and contributions
    • Collaborate with Toyota Motor Europe and Toyota Gazoo Racing colleagues to train, test and evaluate the model (possible trips between Belgium and Germany)
    • Create and support demonstrations using actual systems, prepare field tests
    • Report findings at regular project meetings and prepare findings for publication

Duration

  •  6 months

Confidentiality

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
