Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

As part of TME R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is responsible for local development of powertrains for vehicles built in one of the TME production plants, and for planning and research of new European technologies. Latest focus points include electrification, big data and connectivity.

 

Your project

 

With increasing electrification in the automotive industry, electric motors play a crucial role in future powertrains. Your project is about investigating new electric motor technologies.

  • Innovation scouting through literature and patent landscaping
  • Rate and summarize technology benefits and technical hurdles for industrialization
  • Focus on sustainability aspects of electric motors  (magnet LCA, ‘green e-steel’ , insulation materials)
  • Investigate circularity potential  (re-use, recycle, refurbish) materials and components

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
  • University student with at least 2 years of study already completed.
  • You have a European EEA citizenship. (Not requiring a visa to work in Belgium).
  • You must be a student for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Open personality and able to work independently in a multi-cultural business environment.
  • Eager to dive into technical topics and able to summarize and explain keypoints.

Confidentiality

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
