Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

 

VPE-MBD team has the role of developing and deploying digital methods for both vehicle development and vehicle monitoring in the market. We are a part of R&D organization and we use simulation and virtual evaluation technologies for vehicle dynamics performance teams, as well as research on more advanced performance indicators for objective target setting for the vehicle and its subsystems. We also use digital twins for vehicle state of health monitoring purposes.

 

Your project

 

Development of an optimal BEV vehicle control.
The objective of the internship is to explore the potential for the development of a BEV vehicle control with a logic based on optimal control fundamentals. The aim is to maximize the vehicle dynamics performances & energy efficiency during normal driving scenarios and to reduce the laptime during circuit driving.

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME’s business language) 
  • Student in final year study of Master degree in control or mechactronics or mechanical engineering
  • Good understanding of simulation and modeling techniques
  • Proficient with system & vehicle simulation tools: Matlab, Simulink, Simpack, Carmaker, Carsim etc.
  • Knowledge of data science will be considered an asset

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
