Your team and your responsibilities

Team/division description

           

Toyota Motor Europe R&D Material Engineering (Anti-Corrosion) is responsible for :

  • Developing vehicles and making concept proposals for European core models
  • Reflecting EU technologies to Toyota vehicles timely by utilizing a location advantage and a strong network with European partners
  • Ensuring that Customer Expectation towards Anti-Corrosion performance are achieved

Your project

  • Development of coated corrosion-resistant coated steel part
  • Benchmark key pre-treatment, finishing and corrosion-protection methods used in Automotive and transport sectors available within Europe
  • Develop a proposal(s) on structural and/or functional components without compromising strength, weight nor anti-corrosion performance
  • Collaborate with TME Purchasing to confirm cost impact for your proposal(s)
  • Validate your proposal(s) using laboratory test methods

Your Profile

  • You are fluent in English (TME's business language)
  • Technical science student with background in Materials Science, Surface Engineering, Metallurgy or Automotive Engineering
  • Awareness of metals, welding and/or surface treatments
  • Laboratory and/or vehicle workshop experience
  • Interest in automotive industry and vehicle production techniques
  • Microsoft apps: office applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sharepoint, PowerBI)
  • Detail orientated
  • Holder of a driving Licence

Confidentiality

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.

 

It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.

 

We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
